The boys are already calling the baby Valentine. They alternate between that and Stormy. Charm's baby was born during the night or early morning on Saturday. Animals on Cotton Branch LOVE to have babies on stormy nights/days. Charm kept the tradition.
Isn't he precious! I love the markings on his face and his two white back feet. He looks as if he'll roan out eventually and that's good because it means he'll sell fast. Color always sells!
Charm is very protective. She likes me though. I bring her sweet feed!
I am a little jealous of her. She was so fat last week. Seriously big around as she is tall. Can you see her ribs in the picture above? That's totally not fair. I still carry around 10 pounds from each baby. I know it's different. I guess if I ate grass and hay all day you would be able to see my ribs as well!
I am anxiously and no where near patiently awaiting the birth of my mare's baby. Shelly thinks the stud, Essay, was put in w/ the mares after Bucky cycled out when she lost her baby last year. That means the baby might not come for up to 3-4 weeks from now.
Charm belongs to Nana/Papa so they will name her baby but I'm curious...
What do you think of the boys names for the baby? Valentine (because he was born on Valentine's Day) or Stormy (because he was born during a rain storm)?
